Self Assessment Survey

The Self Assessment Survey (SAS) helps the school team examine staff perception of the current status of four key behavioural support systems in the school: 

  • school-wide
  • non-classroom
  • classroom
  • individual student systems.

Completed annually, usually in the same month the school Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) team initially trained, the SAS takes 20-30 minutes for each staff member to complete.  It is recommended that all school staff participate. Usually, the school  team responsible for PBL coordinates the survey completion. Responses are summarised by the PBL team by entering the information into Excel spreadsheets. The spreadsheets automatically graph the results. It is suggested that the school team examine the results and patterns and use the information to revise and further develop their implementation of PBL.
